
Michigan Breweries Win Big at 2025 World Beer Cup
It's no secret Michigan is great for beer lovers! With the Mitten State's nearly 400 breweries, an excellent craft beer is never far away. Once again, Michigan breweries have taken home top honors at the World Beer Cup!

Back in 1996, The Brewers Association developed the competition to celebrate the art and science of brewing. Often called the "Olympics of beer", this year's World Beer Cup was held May 1, 2025 at the Indiana Convention Center, during the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America.

At the competition, bronze, silver, and gold medals were awarded in 112 beer style categories and five cider categories. Overall, there were 8,375 entries from 1,761 breweries and cideries around the world. That's a lot of competition, so way to go to the Michigan breweries that medaled!
Three Michigan Breweries Win Awards at 2025 World Beer Cup
Last year, three Michigan breweries also scored top honors: Tilted Axis Brewing in Lapper, Broadleaf Brewery & Spirits in Kentwood, and Silver Harbor Brewing Co. in St. Joseph. Well — one has done it again in 2025!

Title Axis Brewery won a silver medal in the American Wheat Beer category with "Lunar Fallout". According to Untappd, it's a dark wheat beer with chocolatey roasted malt flavors and a 5.6 percent ABV.
In the Historical Beer category, congratulations go to Archival Brewing in Belmont. It's "AEgir's Wreath" took home the silver medal. It's a farmhouse ale made with juniper berries and a 5.9 ABV.

Love porters? Look into trying Haymarket Beer Co.'s "Baltic Porter." The Bridgman, Mich., beer won a silver medal in the Strong Porter category. It's malty and roasty with ABV of 8.5.
