Where To Celebrate National Chicken Wing Day in GR

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 28 is NATIONAL CHICKEN WING DAY Celebrate and get your fingers dirty tomorrow at a few of Grand Rapids' Favorites for Chicken Wings.

Z's FINE FOOD AND GOOD SPIRITS: So great to see Z's reopen, they were one of the bars most affected with their windows being smashed out by the protests and aftermath in Downtown GR. Since 1982 you could always count on getting a late bite at Z's. And I personally loved their Karaoke, but no telling when that can ever return. Z's offers Traditional Wings breaded and fried to golden brown. Offered in six flavors and recommend you try the garlic-parmesan or Cajun dry-rub. Six wings $10.00 no longer offering lunch they are open seven days a week Mon-Sat 4P-2A and Sundays 4P - 1A. Located at 168 Louis the side street that takes you back the J.W. Marriott.

WING DOOZY: A local chain of 3 restaurants that got it start in 2013 and has been winning awards for their Wings ever since, including WGRD's King of The Wing Champion. Traditional JUMBO wings and boneless, too. Offered in almost 15 different sauces from the mild butter garlic parm all the way up to the Mardi Gras spicy Cajun Buffalo. And also try their Jimmy Hot Fries with garlic & parm. Three locations in West Michigan including one on Plainfield NE in Grand Rapids and Health Drive in Wyoming and Hudsonville.

GRAND RAPIDS BREWING CO: Now open for dine-in. Several house made brews on tap including "Fish Ladder" their award-winning IPA. Chicken wings with your choice of traditional hot Buffalo sauce, tangy BBQ or house-made spicy mustard which is my recommendation for $11. Located at 1 Ionia Ave SW at the corner of Fulton.

BUFFALO WILD WINGS: I know it's a chain restaurant, but their wings are really good and their downtown GR location is right across from GR Brewing Co at 8 Ionia Ave. So you can visit both places. The other good thing is Sports option with several TV's to view. Now offering "Baseball Bundle" 20 traditional + 20 boneless + fries for only $39.00. Outdoor seating is available on their balcony.

SUNDANCE GRILL & BAR: Another restaurant that had their windows broken is OPEN for dine-in and outdoor seating too. You may know Sundance for their Big Breakfast menu offered all day and BLT bloody Mary. But they have great WINGS too. Wings that are bacon-braised and offered in mole BBQ or peach BBQ (my fave). Open 7 days a week at 151 Ottawa NW, GR.
