West Michigan’s HopCat Expanding to 30 Locations Across U.S. [Video]

Since opening in downtown Grand Rapids in 2008, HopCat has expanded to six locations.

Now 30 more HopCats are on the way! The restaurant and bar announced the expansion this week, WZZM-13 reports. 

An unnamed Texas investor is putting up 25 million dollars for the expansion. The lender gets a small equity stake in BarFly Ventures and the investment allows HopCat enough money to open six new bars a year for the next five years.

As for where the new HopCats will be, Chris Knape, the vice-president of marketing and communications at BarFly Ventures, told WZZM 13  they are targeting Midwest college towns between Pennsylvania and Nebraska.

The next bar is expected to open in Lexington, Kentucky this fall.
