The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for Sunday with damaging winds that will start Sunday morning and last all day.

According to FOX 17, you still have time to batten down the hatches before the high winds kick in on Sunday.

Sundays winter storm may be the strongest storm West Michigan will get all year.

You can expect wind gust at 50 miles per hour and in some areas winds may be as high as 60 miles per hour. Some storm casters are predicting this storm to rival the legendary Edmund Fitzgerald storm of 1975. This storm will be tough on tree limbs which put power lines at risk.

Weather techies are saying there will be a serious low pressure system north of Lake Huron which is a rare system for the Great Lakes.

So are it looks like the storm will stay to the West and North of us which will leave us with rain for Saturday and Sunday night but then snow for Sunday. This could cause near blizzard conditions for some areas this Sunday.

Power outages could become a problem for West Michigan again on Sunday.

You may want to make sure your gas can for your generator is full.
