Always wanted to own a roller rink?

Despite fundraising efforts, "The Rink" in Holland has been put on the market, the Holland Sentinel reports. The owners, who also operate a youth ministry at the space, began a “Save The Rink” fundraising campaign in September 2020. They said in a social media post at the time,

We have all gone through the COVID 19 experience. Some have fared better than others, but if we are still above ground we have so much to be thankful for.
Nevertheless, the past 6 months have been extremely challenging for all business’ especially The Rink. Six months without income would shake the foundation of any organization. With your help, we want to do all we can to save The Rink from closing.

According to the Holland Sentinel, the current owners purchased the rink more than a decade ago. Before that, it was The Grand Roller Rink -- which is where I skated with my family when I was a kid. We loved it! It was SUCH a big deal to pile in the car on a Saturday morning and head to the rink. We had birthday parties there and asked for roller blades for Christmas so we could zoom around the Grand Roller Rink.

From recent posts on Facebook, The Rink appears to still be in operation -- for now; however it has been listed for $775,000.

According to the listing,

The space includes This 20,000 square foot building houses an 80' X 120' skating rink, along with a snack kitchen and dining space, video arcade area, party rooms, office and storage space, small mezzanine area, and ample parking.

The new owners will even get the original disco balls from 1972!
