West Michigan Whitecaps To Host “Chopped” Style Food Competition
Chopped is one of those shows that even if you have never made the conscious decision to watch, you've probably seen an episode of. If you've ever dreamed of competing on this show, now is your chance: the West Michigan Whitecaps baseball team is hosting a local version of the hit show.
Chopped: Coming To A Ballpark Near You
In case you're one of the few people who haven't seen an episode of Chopped (despite there being 745 episodes), contestants are given a mystery box of ingredients, and the contestants are only allowed to use those ingredients. They have a limited amount of time to make a meal and then judges decide who gets voted off, or "chopped" until there is one person left.
According to a press release sent by the Whitecaps, the rules are as follows:
Participating chefs will be provided with a curated list of ingredients to fashion a culinary delight, with 30 minutes to skillfully assemble their unique fan food creations...ballpark foodies will judge the entries based on taste, presentation, ease of assembly, uniqueness, and “eat-ability”.
The winning chef will have their meal featured as the "2024 Ultimate Fan Food" and will receive a gift basket, Whitecaps merch, and free tickets to a game.
Event Details:
- Date: Thursday, March 14th, 2024
- Location: GRCC Secchia Institute for Culinary Education
