Twisted Sister/Adrenaline Mob drummer A.J. Pero passed away this morning, in his bunk on the Adrenaline Mob tour bus.

Twisted Sister has always been one of those bands that you love, but sometimes forget about. Not because they're easy to forget, but because they haven't released anything new in a while. But a great band, with amazing songs.

When I first started listening to them, A.J. Pero was the monster behind the drum kit, and was the guy everyone saw playing that memorable drum intro for 'We're Not Gonna Take It' from Stay Hungry, one of the best songs and videos from the 80s.

News hit today that A.J. Pero passed away in his bunk today, while out on tour with Adrenaline Mob, the band he joined a couple albums ago, after they parted ways with Mike Portnoy.

According to the statement released by Adrenline Mob today:

"We write this with tears in our eyes and our hearts broken to pieces.

"Our beloved brother A.J. Pero peacefully passed away in his sleep this morning on the bus.

"We are in complete shock and our hearts and prayers go out to his family.

"It has been nothing short of an honor to have shared the stage with such a beautiful soul and legend!

"We love you, A.J. Rest in peace.

"We will cherish this last picture [see below] we all took together on tour forever! What a great night we had... We'll miss you, buddy!"

This is a serious bummer, I love Twister Sister! So many great songs, both the well-known part songs, and the darker songs deeper in on the albums. 'Under the Blade' is a cool songs, 'The Beast' is great, 'The Price', 'The Fire Still Burns', 'Captain Howdy', 'Burn in Hell', and 'I Believe in You' are all songs I grew up with, and still love!

"Today I lost a brother. Anthony Jude Pero passed away. A.J. was the final piece in a band that would become an international sensation and one of the greatest live rock acts to ever hit the stage. His sledgehammer assault on the drums helped drive TWISTED SISTER and me to greatness and inspired me to rock every single show. My heart breaks knowing I will never feel the power of his beat behind me, or turn to see his face smiling broadly from the sheer joy he got from doing what he loved. I will always remember that smile. RIP my friend."

Rest in Peace A.J., you will be missed.

Go out and get Stay Hungry if you don't have it.
