Sunday afternoon, I got the spend a few hours with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their latest Christmas show at the Van Andel Arena. I've been a fan of these guys since they were still Savatage, and they hadn't developed the huge Christmas-themed spectacle it has become.

Every year, TSO manages to launch two separate touring companies under the TSO name, one east of the Mississippi, and one west, to cover as much ground as possible before the holidays. They make a TON of money doing it, too, which you can see when you go to the shows.

Last year was the first time I got to see the east of the Mississippi crew, and was surprised to see one of my favorite singers in the crew! Russell Allen is the singer for Symphony X, a great prog-metal band from New York, and tours with TSO during the holidays.

TSO always puts on a great show, and this year was no exception, except they changed the stage in the crowd to a pyramid that shot fire out, instead of an elevator stage for people. NBD.

Enjoy the songs I caught on video!
