Viral internet challenges are usually stupid. like kids eating Tide pods or throwing cheese on babies. But this one called #trashtag is pretty cool -- it encourages young people to clean up their communities.

The #trashtag challenge is pretty simple. You find an area of your community that could use a pick up, and you post a before and after photo, showing your results to your social media feed.

The challenge was first put forth back in 2015 by UCO, an outdoor gear company, and recently has picked up steam thanks to the Instagram feed @thescientistfacts who posted his contribution recently.

Since then, countless others have jumped on the clean up your town meme and have posted their marvelous results.

I'm pretty sure if we post it, they will come.
