It was a successful Thanksgiving weekend at Ford Field in Detroit for West Michigan high school football teams. Three championship trophies are head to West Michigan!

Muskegon finished off their undefeated season with another dominate win. Muskegon beat Farmington Hills Harrison 28-10 to take home the Division 3 state championship. The 18-point victory was their second-closest game of the season. They beat Mona Shores by 11 on Oct. 13. Muskegon won 42-0 in the semifinal and 49-0 in the quarterfinal. In the first seven games of the season Muskegon was 7-0 and outscored opponents by a combined score of 400-21.

Muskegon looks like the best team in the state regardless of division.

West Catholic continued their playoff dominance with another Division 5 state championship. West Catholic beat Saginaw Swan Valley 34-7 for their fifth consecutive state championship. West Catholic beat Frankenmuth 25-21 in the semifinal and Portland 28-26 in the quarterfinal.

West Catholic finishes the season 12-2. Their only loses came in the season opener to eventual Division 6 state champion Jackson Lumen Christi 27-24 and in Week 8 to eventual Division 4 state champion Grand Rapids Catholic Central 35-33.

Catholic Central finished their perfect season with a 42-31 win over Edwardsburg to take home the Division 4 state championship. It was Edwardsburg's second loss of the season.

The championship is the second straight for Catholic Central and the fourth in program history. They beat Escanaba 24-0 in the semifinal and beat Belding 42-3 in the quarterfinal.
