Thirsty, Grand Rapids? GR Store is Top Seller of Hard Liquor in Michigan
Apparently we like our booze in Grand Rapids. A grocery store in GR sold the most liquor in Michigan in 2018.
MLive reports that the Knapps Corner Meijer is the "No. 1 seller of wholesale liquor in Michigan in 2018, according to state data."
The store at 1997 E. Beltline Ave. purchased a total of $2,613,216 in wholesale liquor from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission last year. The total does not include beer and wine.
Another Grand Rapids' Meijer location took 4th in the state and 2nd in GR for liquor sales. The store at 5531 28th St. SE had $2,227,661 in hard liquor sales in 2018,
According to MLive, Michigan businesses spent a total of $1.45 billion in wholesale liquor purchases in 2018, which is up 6 percent from 2017.
