The Grand Rapids Gold Have Announced Their New Home For The 2022-2023 Season
The the announcement of the Deltaplex closing on July 31st, it left many people wondering what would be the fate of future events that have always been held at the Deltaplex over it's 50+ year existence.
One of the biggest questions that was left unanswered is what is going to happen to Grand Rapids G level NBA team, The Grand Rapids Gold, who have called the Deltaplex their home since 2014 when they were known as the Grand Rapids Drive.
Where are the Grand Rapids Gold going to play now?
We finally got answers on Thursday, when the Gold finally made their announcement: Starting with the 2022-2023 season, they will now call Van Andel Arena their home.
According to the release from the Gold and words from their President Steve Jabara, they're extremely excited to play their next season in Downtown Grand Rapids.
“Our goal has always been to provide an elite level of basketball to the West Michigan community, This move further solidifies our efforts to elevate all aspects of our fan experience, and we’re looking forward to calling Van Andel Arena home for future seasons.”
Can I buy tickets to see the Grand Rapids Gold Games at Van Andel yet?
While the full season hasn't been released yet, the franchise is already allowing people to start to secure their season tickets on their website. You can pay a $100 deposit now and fill out a form to ensure you have tickets while they last.
While you can wait until later in the year to try to get season tickets (once the schedule is released) they recommend doing it now, because it will guarantee you the best possible price and seats.
Congratulations to the Grand Rapids Gold on their arguably awesome upgrade to Van Andel, I'm sure I can't be the only one excited to see some NBA G League basketball downtown!
