A rare 7-inch 45 of the second single by the White Stripes, ‘Lafayette Blues’ bundled with ‘Sugar Never Tasted So Good,’ sold for $12,700 on eBay, What Sells Best is reporting. The auction ended this morning (July 2).
Many fans were shocked when the White Stripes announced that they were calling it quits in February of 2011. While the band had gone through several breaks throughout their career, it seemed the duo of Jack and Meg White would reconvene once again to work on new music. Some are still hoping that the White Stripes will reform, but don't hold your breath for it. Jack White went on the record to say
The White Stripes will release their last ever show as a live album. The Detroit duo's last gig took place on July 31, 2007 in Southaven, MS. The collection, simply titled Live In Mississippi, will be made available exclusively to Jack White's Third Man Records Vault members.
