Feel like freaking out the germaphobe in your life?
Show them this video and they’ll spend the next 24 hours in a panic-induced cleaning frenzy!
The United Kingdom is changing how people are getting from place to place, and it's quite interesting.
How are they doing this, you ask? They're doing it with poop. Yeah, that's right, fecal matter.
There's one thing that's pretty cool, no matter who you are. Science experiments.
Not the boring calculations, and theories, and all that stuff. But the actual experiments that people do to prove all those crazy ideas the scientists have are true. Whether it's a simple thing, or an insanely difficult thing to do, it's always pretty cool to watch.
Large Hadron Collider? WTF? But show me the st
Coming from the category of "Whoda thunk it?", is the news that your eyes don't actually see, it's really your brain that interprets whatever your eyes happen to send it, so you can replace the input to your tongue!
A device called the BrainPort allows blind people to place this sensor on their tongue, and it will send information to their brain that allows them to "see" someth
You might have tattoos already, or maybe are just thinking about them. But have you ever seen the process in super-slow motion?
What do all those crazy-ass tiny needles do when they're stabbing you mercilessly, injecting ink into your skin?
Check out this awesome slo-mo video of the needles doing their thing! It's pretty crazy. It might turn you off of tatts...it might not. Either way, it's pr
Do you have any tatts you are having second thoughts about, but you're not sure how the laser removal thing works?
Check out this cool video where the Smarter Every Day guy checks out the science behind tattoo removal, how it works, and shows you laser removal in slow motion! How freaking cool is that!
The moment you get inked, your body sees it as foreign material in your body and tries to kill
It turns out that the ancient Egyptians were a lot smarter than the people currently studying them!
For years, Egyptologists have been looking at pictograms and interpreting them however they want, usually giving some kind of religious meaning. Everything seemed to be some crazy religious purification ritual or something.
In reality...not so much.
We live in an extraordinary time.
We can send a space ship to Mars and communicate with it as easily as making a phone call or sending a text. We can regrow body parts in a petri dish. The sky is the limit on what we can accomplish. Science is pretty great.
But as great as science is, it still can't explain EVERYTHING.
The moon orbits Earth at about 238,855 miles. The International Space Station orbits Earth at about 260 miles.
That's quite a difference.
So, what would it look like if they switched, and the moon orbited the Earth at 260 miles?
