NASA reached a major milestone Friday as the Orion spacecraft completed its first voyage to space, traveling farther than any spacecraft designed for astronauts has been in more than 40 years. Bottom line: NASA's back in the spaceflight game for the first time since the space shuttle program ended three years ago.

For all the space junkies out there: The first flight test of Orion, NASA's next-generation spacecraft capable of sending astronauts on future missions to an asteroid and the journey to Mars, has been rescheduled.

Science is just mind-blowing sometimes. Remember last week when we made history by landing on a comet? Well, that comet has a weak magnetic field that appears to be oscillating at low frequencies. To put that into terms that all of us normal human beings can understand, it's making an eerie sound.

Being an astronaut has to be the coolest thing ever.  Why else would we all dream of being one when we were kids?  NASA should be the coolest place to work ever! They always seem to get to do the coolest experiments, and have lots of fun! I know, there's a bunch of boring stuff they have to do, too...but we don't care about that! NASA Flight Engineers Rick Mastracchio and Mike Hopkins are working outside the orbiting International Space Station today (Dec. 21) to fix a bad pump. They are doing the first in a series of spacewalks to replace a degraded ammonia pump module with one of the station's two external cooling loops that keeps both internal and external equipment cool, according to NASA.
