After 2020 was a very deadly year in Grand Rapids with house fires, GRFD and GRPS have teamed up to try to curb the problem.

Apparently, it doesn't work like you see in the movies.

Axel, or "Axe" for short is a Lab mix rescue puppy who's in training now. He'll be helping out with station tours, fire prevention efforts, and community outreach.

Applications are due on February 11th.
