Michigan's first big snowfall of the year has arrived, which means Michigan's drivers magically forget how to drive in snowy hazardous conditions. Drivers speeding when they shouldn't, not giving themselves enough room to break to avoid sliding, and people not cleaning off their cars.
There is nothing I hate more than getting stuck behind someone who still has snow on the roof of their car and it blows off and hits my car or causes me to not be able to see. But little do people know that you can actually receive a ticket for not cleaning the snow off your car in Michigan.

Sections 257.677a and 257.709 state that drivers must not drive a vehicle that can "obstruct the safety vision of the driver of a motor vehicle", specifically stating snow, ice, or slush as prohibited events.
The law requires that the
- Front and rear windshield
- Roof
- The hood of your car
- Taillights
all be cleared of snow or you face a fine of up to $100.
