ESPN's Jackie MacMullen is reporting that the National Basketball Association is close to allowing the eight NBA teams not invited to Orlando for the restart of the 2020 season, to Chicago for a series of exhibition games to be played in September.

These games would not in any of the league standings, and would be used for player development.  Which would likely benefit teams like the Golden State Warriors and the Detroit Pistons(head coach Dwane Casey pictured above).

The Pistons have not played any organized games since the coronavirus pandemic started in March, they finished the 2019-20 season at 20-46.  Injuries to key players like Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, and Luke Kennard cost the Pistons any hope of a playoff berth this season.
