Girl Scouts Are Launching a New Cookie Treat for Dogs

Girl Scout Cookies have been a beloved part of American culture since 1917. Now, dogs are getting a cookie of their own, with the first dog-friendly treat set to debut in January.

For more than a century, the Girl Scouts have funded their activities through cookie sales. The popular fundraising tradition reportedly generates an estimated $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion in annual revenue for the program.

Girl Scout cookie flavors may come and go, but some classics have stood the test of time. Thin Mints and Shortbread, also known as Trefoils, have been around since the 1930s. Peanut Butter Sandwich, or Do-si-dos, date back to the 1950s and 1960s and have remained a staple on the Girl Scout cookie lineup for more than 60 years.

Other Girl Scout cookie favorites currently available include Samoas, Tagalongs, Adventurefuls, Lemonades, ExploreMores, Caramel Chocolate Chip and Toffee-tastic. But in 2027, the lineup will get a new addition, and this one is made especially for our four-legged friends. A new Girl Scout-inspired treat for dogs will join the pack!

Girl Scouts Have a New Cookie Your Dog Will Love

According to WOOD TV8, the Girl Scouts are launching the first Girl Scout cookie-inspired treat designed for dogs, called Patch Pals. The blueberry muffin-flavored treats will be available exclusively online beginning in January 2027. While the price hasn’t been announced yet, Girl Scout cookies typically sell for about $6 to $7 per box.

The Girl Scouts are also adding another new cookie to the lineup: Sparkables, the organization's first allergy-friendly cookie for humans. The crunchy oatmeal cookies feature chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. The cookies are made without eggs, milk, peanuts, wheat, tree nuts or sesame, making it possible for even more people to enjoy a Girl Scout cookie.
