I'll admit I never watched the show Battle Creek...  But, my DVR is full of recorded episodes, I just haven't gotten around to watching them. Television junkie problems, man.

I was excited when I first heard about a cop show being made about the West Michigan city. And Josh Duhamel. I was also excited about Josh Duhamel.

I planned to spend a glorious day binge-watching Battle Creek if I ever got time. Now it seems like my binge-watch will be rather short, because it's been cancelled after just one season.

There are some people who aren't to happy about that and have started a petition to get the show back on the air.

WWMT-Channel 3 reports that more than 5,000 fans have signed a petition at change.org to "Save Battle Creek."

The petition reads:

"We, the undersigned, enjoy watching Battle Creek on CBS. The characters are complex yet likable, the situations are funny yet heartfelt and the dialogue are witty yet genuine. They keep us wanting to coming back week after week and we care about what happens on the show.

Please find a way to keep Battle Creek on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on CBS or, if necessary, on another channel."

A Battle Creek native, Erin Rankin posted:

"Finally! A GOOD CLEAN show that doesn't feel "Hollywood-ized" where the characters feel real and the story lines are interesting, funny and keep you wanting to watch. Come on CBS... keep the GOOD stuff!"

The group is hoping to get more than 7,500 signatures.
