On Saturday, the quick action of a fellow driver helped to save the life of a woman trapped in a burning car on US-127 near Clare/ Roscommon.

WIDV-Detroit reports that Michigan State Police were called to a one-vehicle crash on Saturday morning.

Slippery conditions made it difficult for emergency crews to reach the scene. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, which had started on fire.

A 51-year-old passerby came to the rescue. The person was able to break one of the car windows with a crowbar and get the woman out before the flames reached her.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The identifies of the driver and the person who helped her have not been released at this time.
