Michigan State Police vs Grand Rapids Police Hockey Game is This Saturday

Michigan State Police are facing off on the ice against Grand Rapids Police this Saturday - and it's for a good cause.

The Grand Rapids Police Department shared about the event on Facebook.

The game is in honor of fallen Michigan State Police Trooper Tim O'Neil.

Trooper O’Neill passed away in on-duty motorcycle crash in Plainfield Township in 2017.

The MSP vs GRPD hockey game is Saturday October 21, 2023 at Griff's Ice House, which is located at 30 Coldbrook St. NE in Grand Rapids.

While the game is free to attend, donations will be collected at the door to benefit Kendall Lalone as she continues her battle against childhood cancer.

The game will start at 5:30p.m. The event will also include a prize raffle.

According to GRPD, almost all their hockey players have a background in competitive travel, high school, and/ or college hockey. A number of the team members also provide coaching and mentorship with the Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation.
