The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids posted a pretty cool picture on Twitter, Sunday afternoon, of a couple of ice volcanoes they came across Sunday at Oval Beach in Saugatuck.

Sounds creepy but it's not, it's just where ice, along the ice shelf, has been shoved into a volcano looking form (or a cone) and then when waves come in, the water gets pushed through the openings.  If you want to know more, Michigan Tech has a very scientific answer about how they happen, HERE.

Ice volcanoes aren't specific to Lake Michigan or Oval beach as you can see in the video below, which was shot on the shore of Lake Erie.

Still really cool to watch and now you know we have a few (right now anyway) in Saugatuck if you want to enjoy nature's magic.
