Hot Sauce Festival Brings the Heat for Two Days
Michigan is turning up the heat this year with its inaugural two-day hot sauce festival, spicing up the state’s ever-expanding lineup of food and drink celebrations.
Hot Sauce Has Become a Big Deal
Over the past two decades, hot sauce has surged in popularity across the United States and worldwide. Today, it represents a $3.3 billion global industry, with projections suggesting it could double by 2032. In the U.S., it is among the most widely used condiments, with more than 90% of Americans adding it to their meals. This rapid growth is fueled by consumer demand for a diverse range of flavors, from mild to extremely hot.
Franks RedHot was once the spiciest option on store shelves, but today, shoppers face hundreds of choices. Hot sauce gained major popularity when spicy chicken wings became a nationwide favorite. Some restaurants even feature a “Wall of Fame” honoring customers who have braved the world’s hottest sauces.
