A Michigan woman accused of stealing wine left store employees puzzled when they could not locate the bottle. Authorities say the mystery was solved during a body cavity search.

“God’s Pocket” is also the name of a fictional blue-collar South Philadelphia neighborhood featured in God's Pocket and its 2014 film adaptation God's Pocket. The setting is portrayed as a gritty, tight-knit community where secrets stay buried and residents live tough, familiar lives.

A third meaning of “God’s Pocket,” also known as the “prison pocket,” is prison slang referring to body cavities used to hide contraband. The term commonly refers to the rectum, and sometimes the vagina, where inmates may conceal drugs, weapons, cell phones, or other small items.

The third definition of “God’s Pocket” is the one that best explains where an alleged thief reportedly tried to hide a stolen bottle of wine.

Stolen Bottle of Wine Found During Cavity Search

According to Up North Live, a 48-year-old woman allegedly walked into a store over the weekend and was spotted by a clerk drinking wine. When she returned the next day for another bottle, employees stopped her but reportedly couldn’t locate the open wine bottle.

Police were called to the scene, and officers say a search uncovered the missing bottle of wine concealed in a body cavity commonly referred to as “God’s Pocket.” The woman was charged with two counts of retail fraud, one count of smuggling, and one count of trespassing.

Wyandotte Police Officer Suspected Of Stealing Food

A Wyandotte Police officer was suspected of stealing another officer’s lunch from the breakroom at the Wyandotte Police Department. It seems that Officer Barwig was eating lunch in the breakroom when he was called to assist with a person in the Wyandotte Police Department jail, quickly leaving the half-eaten lunch on the breakroom table.

A short time later, officer Barwig and another officer returned to the breakroom, finding his lunch had totally disappeared. Barwig says that upon entering the breakroom, Officer K9 "Ice" was,

“...leisurely strolling out of the breakroom, licking his chops.”
