Wednesday night in Grand Rapids was a bit rough for Motley Crue, as they kicked off their Final Tour at the Van Andel Arena.  The show was plagued with technical problems throughout, and oddness.

After the third song, Tommy apparently blasted a hole in the kick drum...I'm sure it had nothing to do with FBHW Producer Joe's stunt that morning.  Positive.

Then, later, the guitar went out, and then the vocals, and then the band forgot how to play "Too Fast for Love".  The sound was insanely loud, and for some reason, the video screens were completely out of focus and plagued with odd delay and slowness.  They had been fine during Alice Cooper's set.

Aside from that, the band really pulled together to play the songs, and make sure the crowd had a good time.  The visuals and the pyrotechnics they built around the show were really good, too!  Once the tech problems are fixed, the show will be a huge spectacle that will be great to see!

I wish they'd done more at the end when they went to the small stage in the middle of the arena and played "Home Sweet Home", though.  Maybe done some old songs there, club-style...that would have been amazing.

BTW, Mick was getting around really well, and he was playing great, too...so any idea that his health is stopping them from touring sounds like bulls**t to me.

If you missed it, here's a little of the show, the first song, "Mutherf****r of the Year", and the beginning of Tommy's drum solo.
