Michigan’s Best Ice Cream Shop Serves 160+ Flavors in Farm Setting

As summer approaches, it's definitely the time for ice cream! Check out the place that has been named the best ice cream shop in Michigan (multiple times).

This Mitten State creamery actually has a special place in my heart. We got our multiple-tier, gorgeous ice cream wedding cake there. Highly recommend! Especially because prior to the wedding, we got to head out to their sprawling farm and creamery and try a TON of different flavors - yum!

Traverse City's Moomers Homemade Ice Cream Named Best Ice Cream Shop in Michigan

Yes, it's Moomers Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City that is once again getting national attention. Not too long ago Moomers was honored among the 40 best ice cream shops in the U.S. by Thrillist.

Readers Digest also recently gave props to Moomers, naming it the top ice cream shop in Michigan.

Now, yet another publication, Taste of Home, has declared Moomer's the top creamery in the Mitten State.

Where is Moomers Ice Cream in Michigan?

Moomers is located about five miles from downtown Traverse City at 7263 N. Long Lake Rd.

The Plummer family runs Moomers Creamery on their dairy farm - so yes, you can see the cows that produce the milk for the ice cream right there at the farm!

There's also a GORGEOUS sunflower field on the property.

Ice Cream You Can Get at Moomers in Traverse City

Moomers makes more than 160 flavors right there at the farm, including Michigan favorites like Blue Moon and Superman (their version is, fittingly, called "Super Moo").

My favorite flavors I've tried at Moomers are Caramel Sea Salt, Cookie Monster, and Oreo Mint Meltdown!

Moomers serves traditional cones, as well as sundaes, malts, coolers, and floats. They also have seasonal favorites like this delightful pumpkin doughnut creation and pumpkin, oatmeal, and chocolate "spookies and cream" ice cream sandwiches in the fall.
