A former Grand Valley State student was mistakenly identified as a suspect in a crime, and was approached by some undercover officers. When he reacted as we all would, and thought he was getting mugged, since the officers took his wallet, they tackled him and beat him severely, and choked him unconscious.

Now the guy is suing everyone involved. Wouldn't you?

The guy was walking to the Geek Group to help people with science and technology, and is described "as far as you can get from a thug".

Part of the mistaken identity problem came because he wasn't carrying his ID...which is not illegal, unless you're driving a vehicle.

We'll keep an eye on this and see what happens. Get the full story at WZZM.
