The Sparta Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man with cognitive disabilities who left a group home on Tuesday, June 10.

The missing individual is 60-year-old Michael Wilson. He is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds. He is bald on the top of his head, with white hair on the sides.

According to authorities, Mr. Wilson is without critical medication and is not able to care for himself. Because of his condition, there is growing concern for his safety and well-being.

Mr. Wilson was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with colorful writing on it, along with black pants and Adidas sandals. He may also be carrying one or more backpacks.

One important detail that may help in locating him: Mr. Wilson prefers to go by the name “Wild Eagle” and may not respond if someone calls him “Michael.” Police urge members of the public to keep this in mind if they attempt to speak with or approach him.

If you see Mr. Wilson—or believe you may have seen him—do not hesitate to contact your local law enforcement agency right away so they can perform a welfare check.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sparta Police Department. The office number is 616-887-8716, and their 24-hour dispatch line is 616-887-7331.

This is a developing story.
