Any Famous Pigs From Michigan?
When I was growing up the most famous pigs I was aware of were Ms. Piggy from the Muppets, Arnold from Green Acres, Wilbur from Charlotte's Web, Porky Pig from the Warner Brothers cartoons, and Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. None of these pigs have a connection to Michigan.
Famous pigs from Michigan include the beloved sculpture Willy the Pig in Garden City, heritage breeds like Hogan Hogs and Mangalitsas from Kohl Farms, a large pet pig from Calhoun County known as Macon, a viral pig from Redford named Pablo EscoBoar, and a group of rescued pigs from Saginaw known as the Saginaw Six.

Loose Pig in Saginaw Now Has a Name
This little piggy didn't stay home, this little piggy went to the markets in downtown Saginaw. That is where this little piggy was picked up by the Saginaw Township Police Department. The police then put a message out on their Facebook page asking the public if someone lost their pig. The post read, "If this is your pig, please let us know. Otherwise, she starts field training on Monday."
The Saginaw County Animal Care & Control wound up naming the little pig Kris P. Bacon. Then posted on their Facebook page, "Lost & Found...Pig Edition," asking the public if someone was missing a pig and gave a number to call.

Good news, Kris P. Bacon was adopted and will have a nice new home just in time for the holidays.
