Campus Martius Park: Detroit’s Iconic Skating Experience
In 2024, The Rink at Campus Martius Park nabbed the top spot. Nestled in the heart of downtown Detroit on Woodward Avenue, it’s hard to beat the view of the skyline and the city’s giant Christmas tree while gliding across the ice. Over the years, the rink has hosted some of the world’s top skaters, from Olympic gold medalists to U.S. champions. It's open Nov. 22 through January 24.
Ice skating isn't the only festive fun you can have at Campus Martius Park. In November it's the annual tree lighting. This year, it's coming up Nov. 21 and features 62-foot tall Norway spruce tree decorated with ornaments and thousands of LED lights.
There's also the Cadillac Lodge, a family-friendly holiday pop-up with a huge heated tent with games, food, and drinks. Take in a horse-drawn carriage ride too!
Frankenmuth Ice Rink: Holiday Magic in the Mitten
The other Michigan attraction up for the honor is The Frankenmuth Ice Rink. You'll find it in the heart of downtown at Zehnder Park, as part of Frankenmuth's "Christmas Experience". It's open Nov. 19 through Feb. 28.
