Michigan’s Allergy Season Will Be Longer and Worse in 2024

If you have allergies you are in for a tough spring. People are already beginning to sneeze in the Midwest and it's about to get worse.

Some call it "Hay Fever" while most call it allergies, either way for those who suffer from this it is not a good time, especially this year.

The woman in the picture above probably didn't choose a good place to hang out when you have hay fever since the allergy causes sneezing, coughing, and itchy eyes. The bad part of hay fever is there is no cure. Sure there are things you can do to fight the symptoms and even medicines you can take to help, but there is no escaping it.

So why is the 2024 allergy season for Michiganders going to be so much worse and longer than normal?

This allergy season in Michigan will be much worse and longer than usual because of the mild winter we experienced.  If you have asthma it may even be worse for you.

According to AccuWeather, allergy season will start much earlier than in previous years. Tree pollen will roll out first followed by grass pollen and weed pollen. Because of the light winter, the early start will make it rough for those with allergies and asthma but the real kicker is it will last until the dog days of summer.  So you may want to purchase some Kleenex stock because a lot more tissues will be used in Michigan this allergy season.
