Michigan Irish Music Festival Cancelled

The Michigan Irish Music Festival in Muskegon has announced that they are cancelling this year’s festival due to COVID-19 concerns. The organizers say the current live event guidelines, uncertainty about the pandemic and the current surge of COVID 19 cases in Michigan all played factors into the cancelation. 

The annual celebration of Irish music, culture and food was scheduled for Sept. 16-19 at Heritage Landing. The Michigan Irish Music Festival celebrated its 20th year in 2019 with nearly 40,000 attendees. It was virtual last year.

If you purchased tickets in advance, you will be contacted via email within the next 14 days. Organizers said in a news release as referenced by WZZM,

"We are unable to proceed with producing a festival in the format that we have established and on the level of quality our patrons, volunteers, musicians, vendors, and sponsors have come to expect. Our board continues to monitor Michigan restrictions, health guidelines, and capacity limits to determine what type of events will be permissible in the future and we will plan accordingly going forward."
