Lovefood sought out the best fast casual restaurant in each state "serving up tasty meals and laid back vibes." To determine their ranking, they relied on reviews, awards, and the genuine experiences of their team.

The foodie publication's pick not only looks super yummy, it's got an awesome theme: Pulp Fiction.

It's Royale with Cheese in Detroit!

To refresh your memory, here's the scene from the movie in which Vincent (John Travolta) explains to Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) the differences between Europe and the US—from drugs to fast food. (If you're seen the movie, it may seem obvious, but just in case: the language is NSFW.)

According to Eater Detroit, childhood friends Hass Bazz and Moe Ettaher were inspired to open Royale with Cheese after watching Pulp Fiction. The pair opened the restaurant at 4163 Cass Ave. in Detroit in 2017. Located in a restored 1913 building, the eatery combines American and Mediterranean flavors and is known for its elevated diner classics and gourmet burgers.

The walls are decked out with Pulp Fiction murals, and the menu is just as playful. The names alone are worth the visit. Here's a look inside and at some of the menu items:

The Royale burger is a mouthful—in the best way. It’s piled high with smoked brisket, corn relish, caramelized onions, avocado, coleslaw, gouda, and a creamy cheese sauce they call Royale sauce.

Then there’s the Mia Wallace (a nod to Uma Thurman’s character).

It comes stacked with BBQ sauce, poblano and corn, candied turkey bacon, honey-ancho BBQ aioli, and both Swiss and American cheese.

Lovefood also raves about the Havana breakfast burger, which comes with turkey bacon, a fried egg, cheese fondue, and chipotle ketchup.

If you’re in a chicken mood, try the Vincent Vega: Cuban fried chicken, Nablus pickles, artisan romaine, Cajun aioli, and Swiss and American cheese

Need more? They also serve up fried mac and cheese, soft pretzels, nacho ravioli, wraps, grilled cheese, soups, salads—and seriously tasty-looking hand-spun custard milkshakes.
