Michigan Man Steals Gas From Old Job For 12 Years After Retiring
In the City of Lake Linden, Michigan, located in Houghton County, a retiree kept something after leaving his job 12 years that has him in some deep doo-doo.
According to "My UP Now", 71-year-old Ronald Schmitt retired from the Department of Public Works 12 years ago but didn't return something. Schmitt was issued a company key fob that would allow him to fuel DPW vehicles while on the job which he did not return.
Not returning the key fob was not what got Schmitt into trouble, it was the over $28,000 of gasoline he used in the last 12 years filling up his own truck that did him in. Ouch!

The Michigan State Police in partnership with the Lake Linden Village Police Department caught Schmitt using the key fob to fill up is truck. Schmitt has since been arraigned and expected to be back in front of the judge on February 3.
