
Summer Burns On, Is Michigan Facing A New Record?
Was this one of the hottest and longest summers in Michigan in the last 50 years? Some Michiganders seem to think so.
I finally got an air conditioning system in my home a few years ago and rarely use it since I'm at work most of the time. I mainly use it when family or friends stay over, or when it’s 90+ degrees and too hot to sleep. I've used my air conditioner more times this year than I did the last two years combined.
West Michigan's 2025 Summer Was Warmer Than Average
West Michigan experienced above-normal temperatures and dry conditions in many areas, particularly in July and August. The June heat wave brought temperatures nearing 100 degrees, with multiple days above 90.
There were a couple of weeks where it cooled down significantly, but a warm-up in late summer has extended into early fall with temperatures near 90, which is unusually warm for Michigan in September.

The Farmer's Almanac predicted a hot summer with a chance of above-normal temperatures and record-breaking heat; once again, it was right on the money.
Unending Heat: Michigan’s Summer Pushes New Limits
One poster on the Michigan Reddit page said, "As a lifelong Michigander, this summer seems to be the longest I have ever known." Below are comments from other Michiganders who commented on the post.
It has been warm late in the year the last few years for sure, but this year it seems like we got more heat in June, July, August, and now September.
A summer that starts late seems to last longer.
I’m not sure if this was the longest summer so far, but the Reddit handle of "Spaghettiboobin" is pretty darn funny.
