Bloomfield Township Cracks Down On Illegal Left Turns Costing Drivers One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars
Michigan may have the hottest new traffic-violation spot, which has already resulted in over 140 people ticketed for an illegal left turn into a subdivision in Bloomfield Township.
Police there are saying people have deliberately been ignoring a "No Left" signal that was placed on the eastbound side of Hickory Grove Road at Rambling Way, Courville Drive and Aspen Lane intersections, which is in affect during morning and evening rush hours, but people keep ignoring it.

People have been risking the $125 fine and 2 points off their license for the convenience of trying to use a shortcut after I-696 closed, which is when residents say drivers started to get off on Telegraph Road to use the neighborhood streets as a cut-through to I-75.
A report from WXYZ shows the impact this has been having not only on people's wallets, but for the safety of those living in the Hickory Grove neighborhood.
The added traffic is becoming particularly dangerous especially considering there are no sidewalks in the subdivision, and we all know then when people are using alternate routes to try and shave a few minutes off their commute, there's usually speeding that comes along with that.
Bloomfield Township Police Officer Sean Manor commented on how people are paying too much attention to technology and not the established street signs that are meant to properly dictate traffic:
People are saying, 'Well, my GPS told me to turn down there,' and while I can understand your GPS is telling you to turn down there, at the end of the day a driver is ultimately responsible for following the laws of the road, the signs posted.
