At 95, This Beloved Muskegon Walmart Employee Is Finally Retiring
A 95-year-old Walmart employee in West Michigan is in the spotlight after her workplace announced her retirement.
The woman, known only as Ethel, had worked between two different Walmart stores in Muskegon for 31 years, 6 months, and 13 days before ultimately deciding to hang up her blue vest and retire.
In a post on Facebook, the Walmart store on Henry St. in Muskegon called Ethel "beloved" and said that she would be greatly missed.

The comments section was flooded with current and former coworkers chiming in to say how much they loved working with Ethel.
Jennifer N. said,
I will always remember you fondly, Ms. Ethel. I adored working with you in apparel. You were a riot. Always spoke your mind and weren't afraid to say the truth either. You are truly an inspiration.
Ethel, it turns out, was one of the original employees at the Henry St. Walmart when it opened 20 years ago. But, prior to that, she also worked at the Sherman Blvd. store, where she met Torri.
Torri had this to say when reading the news of Ethel's retirement,
Congratulations, Ms. Ethel. Job well done! I met you when I was 18, opening the Sherman Walmart in 1994, then years later, moved back and interviewed at Henry St. The most amazing thing was that you had still remembered me. You will always be in my heart as one of the OG's.
It's unclear what Ethel will be doing to enjoy her retirement, but I hope that it includes the occasional trip to the Henry St. Walmart to say hello to her old friends.
