LMCU Ballpark Steps Up To Host Major Youth Baseball Event
Grand Rapids baseball fans hold a very special place in their heart for Sullivan Field (formerly Valley Field).

Valley Field (now widely known as Sullivan Field) was built in 1937 on the West Side of Grand Rapids.
It served as a home for the Grand Rapids Black Sox and hosted legendary players like Satchel Paige.
In the 1950s, the park became synonymous with Bob Sullivan and the Grand Rapids Sullivans amateur baseball team, which won four national championships.
In recent years a major restoration project started to restore the field to its previous glory.
The work is going great and the ballpark is looking better every single day.
But it's still not ready for people to play on which caused an issue for the upcoming Pitch, Hit, and Run (PHR) event.
But thankfully a new field to host the event was found in Comstock Park.
