A Thrift Shopper’s Dream Is Taking Place This Weekend Thanks To The YMCA
I'm a big-time thrifter. I have a specific route of thrift shops around Grand Rapids that I hit every other month, and one of those stops is the Goodwill "bins" at the Goodwill Outlet. It is a series of large blue bins full of leftover clothes from retail stores that never sold, and you just rummage through them and pay by the pound.

They can be hit or miss, but what if I told you there is a rummage sale like this taking place today and tomorrow, but to the next level?
YMCA White Elephant Sale 2026
The YMCA's annual White Elephant Sale, a tradition in its 89th year, is a massive rummage sale that runs all day Friday and most of Saturday, April 24th & 25th. The YMCA collects items from businesses, estate sales, donations, and more. This is not "junk"; everything in the sale is quality. Basically, anything under the sun will be up for grabs, with all proceeds going towards the YMCA Camp Maitou-Lin.
