Food Network Star Duff Goldman Bringing One-Man Show to Grand Rapids
Get your mixing bowls ready, because food television royalty is coming to Grand Rapids!
Celebrity chef and Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman is heading to West Michigan for a super unique live event. If you watch any Food Network baking competitions, you already know him well. Honestly, he has always been my favorite judge on those holiday championship shows. He is funny, blunt but not mean, though he's not afraid to get a little sassy and poke fun at his fellow judges.
Duff Goldman Coming to Grand Rapids in November
Now, Goldman is taking a break from the studio lights to bring his one-man stage show, The Tao of Duff, on the road. There are only 11 stops on the tour, and one of them is in Grand Rapids! Goldman will be at the Wealthy Theatre on Friday, November 13.
So, what actually happens when a celebrity pastry chef takes over a local theater stage? Honestly, it reminds me a lot of when I saw Alton Brown live in Grand Rapids a few years ago—and it was awesome!
What Is 'The Tao of Duff'?
The Tao of Duff is part comedy, part personal storytelling, and part live baking demonstration. Goldman plans to stretch paper-thin phyllo dough from scratch right on stage to bake his great-grandmother’s apple strudel recipe, filling the entire room with the scent of cinnamon and browned butter.

Between the pastry work, he will share unfiltered stories from his life long before TV. He dives into everything from his early days working fast-food joints and fine-dining lines to playing in metal bands and eventually founding Charm City Cakes.

The way Goldman describes it, The Tao of Duff sounds like a fun behind-the-scenes look at his career that feels more like hanging out in a noisy family kitchen than watching a standard theater performance.
