A Simple Clerk Mistake Made This Michigan Woman $100,000 Richer

But in this case a Michigan woman is $100,000 richer.

Barbara Lambert recently won big playing the Michigan Lottery and made her way from Saint Helen to Lansing where Michigan Lottery Headquarters are located to turn in her winning ticket.

While there she posed for pictures and shared how she won thanks to a miscomputation.

“I play Powerball all the time and have a special set of numbers I usually use. I bought my Powerball ticket as usual, and once I got in my car, I realized there must have been a miscommunication because the Power Play wasn’t added to my ticket. I went back into the store to get another ticket with the Power Play and told the cashier to give me a few easy pick numbers this time."

“The next day, I went back to the same store and scanned my ticket. When a message came up to file a claim, I asked the cashier what it meant, thinking maybe I won a few thousand dollars. The cashier looked at me and said: ‘It’s you!’ I was confused until she told me they had just got word a few hours ago that the store had sold a $100,000 winning Powerball ticket. I started shaking and my eyes filled with tears!"

This lucky Michigan woman isn't the only person to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.

A man visiting Michigan from Maryland recently won $1,000,000 playing a Lucky Numbers instant win ticket.

A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.

And an Oakland County woman playing Fantasy 5 online accidentally selected a wrong number that resulted in her winning $250,000.
