Man's best friend sometimes gets into some ridiculous antics. We love when our dogs are being goofballs and it's harmless. But sometimes, a well meaning good boy can get into some bad trouble.

And that's what happened when Hazel the black lab of Georgetown Township, Michigan decided to test her luck and see how strong the ice was on Cedar Lake East

According to a facebook post from the Georgetown Charter Township facebook page, Hazel fell into the icy waters around 1:40pm on Monday January 15th, much to her owner's dismay, and wasn't able to be saved by her human alone.

That's when her people called the Ottawa Sheriff's office for help. The sheriff's office then recruited their friends at the Georgetown Township Fire Department to use their special equipment to bail the little doggie out the cold water. Thankfully, their quick actions saved the day.

Georgetown Township Fire Chief Matt Dewitt had this to say about the event

The dog was extremely exhausted and had ice forming on its face and nose when we arrived... We were thankful that we got to reunite Hazel with her owner and that no one was injured.

Hazel was returned safely to her owner and is recovering well, according to the fire department.
