Michigan Moves Up On The List Of Best States To Live In
A new 2023 ranking of the best states to live in has just come out from Wallet Hub.
Last year Michigan was in the bottom half of America coming in at number 30.
This year we've gone up on that list and the best part is that we ranked higher than Ohio.
Where Did Michigan Rank?
For 2023 Michigan came in at number 25 which is an improvement from 30th last year but definitely leaves room for improvement on the list.
Before I give you the bad news, let's focus on the good stuff.
What Did Michigan Do Well In?
Michigan is towards the top of affordable states to live in coming in at number 14.
Our best ranking would be 12th place in the country when it comes to quality of life.
We also were 21st in the safety category.
What Does Michigan Need To Improve In?
Michigan was almost at the bottom of the list when it came to the economy, we ranked 46 out of 50 states.
We also were in the bottom half of the country when it came to education and health landing at number 33.
Michigan Home Ownership Is Towards The Top
It may not feel like it if you've tried to buy a house the past couple of years but Michigan was number 4 on the list for home ownership.
1. West Virginia
2. Maine
3. Minnesota
4. Michigan
5. Vermont
The Worst States For Home Ownership Were
46. Rhoad Island
47. Hawaii
48. Nevada
49. California
50. New York
I'm glad to see Michigan moving up the list but we can't be satisfied with just being in the middle of the pack. I hope next year we crack the top 20.
These 25 things should help Michigan climb up the list next year.
