Former Fab Fiver Juwan Howard has emerged as the leading candidate to replace John Beilein as the head basketball coach at Michigan.

The Fab Five -- Jimmy King, Juwan Howard, Chris Webber, Jalen Roase and Ray Jackson -- were so influential on college basketball when they came to the University of Michigan in the early '90s, they had a documentary film produced about them. They were fresh, exciting and even had their own dress code (baggy shorts, black socks).

So it's no surprise that one of the Fab Five, Juwan Howard, is leading the search for the new M hoops coach. Rumors are swirling that he has signed a multi year deal to succeed Beilein.

The 46-year-old Howard is a two-time NBA champion, former NBA All-Star and has worked as a Heat assistant coach since 2013.

Howard will have big shoes to fill at Michigan, as the program reached the national championship game twice under Beilein and finished ranked in the top 10 nationally four times. Beilein left the Wolverines to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers.
