My first date wasn't going to a movie. I wasn't old enough to drive yet at 15 but was old enough to buy tickets to see Loverboy at Pine Knob. My mom drove us and chaperoned my first date. There is a picture somewhere of me and the girl sporting our Loverboy t-shirts, blue jeans, and white Nike tennis shoes.
Depending on where you live in Michigan, the geography may be a factor in where and what you do on your first date.
