This story out of Bay County broke my heart, and it's not just veterans who need your love. But with Veteran's Day coming up, it's a good place to start.

The Catholic Diocese in Saginaw held services for 175 unclaimed remains Tuesday. These are the bodies and cremated remains that were picked up by a funeral home, who then made an attempt to contact relatives of the dead. They either couldn't find anyone, or they never came to pick them up.

After the services, the remains were interred in a crypt in Kawkawlin in Bay County.

The remains were from the Saginaw County medical examiner's office and included 13 veterans, six babies and four married couples.

“These individuals, these children of God, we know very little about,” Bishop Robert Gruss told TV 25 News. “We do know their lives have value. I am so glad we have the opportunity to lay these cremains to rest. What an honor and a privilege in the eyes of God."

If you know someone who lives alone, pay them a visit. They will appreciate more than you know.
