Michigan Trails Week is September 21-28 and it looks like Mother Nature will be kind to those who take advantage.
What is Michigan Trails Week?
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources believes every day is a great day to hit the trails The DNR is celebrating over 13,000 miles of Michigan trails by encouraging Michiganders to enjoy their favorite path while the weather is still great.
One great thing about all the trails in Michigan is you can use them year-round but there is something special about walking these trails during the fall.
Hiking on Michigan trails is always a good time but there is something special when the leaves change. I'm an avid bow hunter and my favorite thing about September leading up to the season opener and through October is seeing those beautiful colors change daily.

Ways to Enjoy Michigan Trail Week
Mountain biking is a great way to enjoy Michigan trails. I'm spoiled by living by the Dragon Trails in Newaygo County and my son and I will spend many of our middays riding those trails between bow hunts but they are great for walking too.
Don't forget Michigan lakes and rivers act as trails and are great ways to enjoy the fall colors, the fresh air, and the peace of mind.
There are lots of trails through Michigan where you can enjoy them by horseback.
There are plenty of Michigan trails to enjoy with a side-by-side or ATV.
Of course, there is nothing like walking a Michigan trail in the fall. This is a great opportunity for families and friends to get together and enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the year in Michigan which might even create a few memories.
