Michigan’s Forgotten Amusement and Theme Parks

When people think of amusement and theme parks in Michigan, the obvious choice is Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon. Across its multiple variations (yes, it hasn't always been Michigan's Adventure), the amusement park has been a part of West Michigan since 1956. But while this is by far Michigan's most successful theme park.

But that doesn't mean it's been Michigan's only amusement or theme park. In fact, around the state, there have been many different parks around the state all offering different experiences, from roller coasters to water parks to (something random).

From its days as Deer Park back in the 1950s to parks that many people have thought about in recent years, like Pleasure Island (it's a family place, I promise), Ramona Park in East Grand Rapids, and even Wenona Beach, the oldest park we'll be covering today.

Even the recent Deer Forest, a park my dad would talk about when I was younger, that only recently closed its doors after a long and storied history in Coloma, will be covered.
