Congratulations to Hudsonville Varsity Voices who won the public vote and will be singing on stage with Foreigner a jam-packed Van Andel Arena on June 11, 2024. On top of that, the school's choir program will be receiving $500 from Foreigner!

In total, nearly 8,000 folks across West Michigan placed their votes for their favorite choir.

Hudsonville Varsity Voices

Choir Director: Deborah Andre

About the choir:

This is a 25-member auditioned SATB ensemble. This choir is comprised of 9-12 grade students who have a passion for singing. This award-winning ensemble is made of the MOST AMAZING young people. Their love for music and one another is evident in each and every rehearsal. They are self-motivated and give 110% in all they do together. I cannot say enough about these amazing kids!

Allendale High School Choirs

About the choir:

Nestled between the Michigan lakeshore and the vibrant city of Grand Rapids lies the charming town of Allendale, proud home of the Allendale Falcons! Many recognize Allendale as the site of Grand Valley State University's campus. Allendale High School holds a student body of approximately 800, with approximately 75 students actively participating in choir. Choir members are integral to every facet of our high school experience, contributing to athletics, stage productions, student government, and various clubs. AHS Choirs provides a nurturing environment where individuals are embraced for who they are while being encouraged to reach their fullest potential. Each ensemble at Allendale receives comprehensive instruction encompassing vocal technique, sightreading, music theory, and history, as well as stage performance skills. Additionally, we prioritize team-building exercises and social events to foster meaningful connections among students.

Milwood Middle School

About the choir: 

Thank you so much for having us for the contest. Here at Milwood, we have a really great group of musicians and even better people. The students have been working so hard this year at our festivals and concerts and have been performing so well. The students have been so helpful to eachother this year and have formed a really tight bond as a group. We love singing and performing, and the students are willing to work hard to have a great performance. I appreciate them and Milwood so much for how they have been so warm, and welcoming to the school.

Hastings High School Varsity Singers

About the Choir:

The Varsity Singers are a high school SATB choir with a long and rich tradition of excellent choral music. Comprised of students that are not just great musicians but also great people, Varsity Singers strives to provide their family, friends, school, and town with excellent music performances all while building a strong community of music and friendship within the ensemble. It is an exceptional group of young people.
